Texas!

Downtown Austin! It takes us about 10 mins. to drive to the downtown area!

Tom and I live right off Brodie Ln. Brodie is one long stretch of endless stores and restaurants.

Driving up, over, and down these ramps was a bit intimidating (mostly for me) but, now we are driving like true Bostonian...LOL!

Tom and I live about 4 1/2 miles from this exit!

We Been Elfed!

Happy Holidays To All!

San Antonio - Thanksgiving Weekend

The San Antonio River Walk!
Tom and I went on the River Walk Boat Tour. The driver of the boat shared the history of the river walk and its architecture which, I might add was absolutely beautiful. Tom video the tour however, he need to edit/shorten it due to it being to long. When he is finished editing will add it to the blog for you to view.

Restaurants along the River Walk!

The Alamo

Hurry take the picture, the sun is in my eyes and I have to pee again!!!

Tribute to the soldiers of the Alamo!

The pictures don't do this monument justice!

Tom and Glo ate Thanksgiving dinner at the Buckhorn!

Eating dinner with all these head starring at you is just wrong!!!!

We ate lunch at the Guadalajara Grill and the food was outstanding!

We had a fabulous time! The entertainment was fantastic, food was tasty, and we enjoyed the festival as well as some of the little specialty shops. There was a pottery store that had some beautiful pieces and the colors really grabbed your attention.

We live about 1hr and 15 mins from San Antonio and we plan to go back in the near future to Sea World and maybe to the pottery store again!!!!

Update & The Exotic Resort Zoo!

Hello Friends:

Tom and I miss you all and hope you are all in good spirits and great health.

The two of us have been busy; Tom has been working 6 days per week and I am busy researching and writing several educational blogs on various health-related issues.

We have been able to do a little siteseeing, which also helps us learn our way around this very large city.

Tom is working with a great bunch of people with whom we have had the pleasure of going out a few times and we will be attending our very first Texas Style BBQ at the ranch of one of Tom's co-workers on November 8Th.

Halloween is a big time celebration here in Austin. We are told 6Th St is where to be on Halloween night, so Tom and I are dressing up as Sonny and Cher -- he's Cher
LOL..........kidding!!!!

We still have not seen the Austin Bats that come out at Dusk. It seems that every time we make plans it rains! Austin was having a drought but Tom and I swear we brought the rain with us from New England.

So far, we have not gotten the flu or any other cold (one second while I knock on wood), but recently a spider did take a chunk out of my leg which got infected and I spent my birthday at the local Urgent Care!

No, Tom has not gotten bitten by any of these lovely Texas bugs; I don't think his skin tastes as sweet as mine!!! :)

Best wishes to all!

Feeding the Llama...they were very friendly and extremely gentle, unlike Tom's friend Mr. Camel who almost ate your hand along with the food.

Day5

Hi Family and Friends:

Tom and I decided to leave Nashville yesterday around 3:00pm and head to Memphis for the night and tour Graceland the following day.

We arrived at Graceland around 5:30 and let's just say I was speechless, we got back on the highway and headed straight to Arkansas.

We finally got off the road about 9pm and spent the night at the Best Western. The girls who checked us into the hotel were behind a glass window ( I am gathering the area wasn't much safer than Elvis Presley Blvd) and we were told that the Arkansas bird was actually the Mosquito. We had to rush into the room and hope that a flock of mosquito's didn't come with us.
Let's just say I saw bugs that I have never seen before and I hope Austin doesn't have all of these Bugs!

Tom and I left this morning and drove into Texas around 2:30pm. The first sign I saw said Texarkana..........now tell me who was the genius who thought that up.......how do you even pronounce it? I wouldn't move to the town because I would feel stupid saying the Texarkana.

We saw lots of cows .................................................................

more cows...........................................................................................

and more cows..........................................................................................

and more cows......................OK so,he is a bullie cow!

We stop for gas and these cricket's were everywhere, I thought it was the attack of the locust......... it was hailing cricket's.....no kidding!

We are now safe from the cricket's at the Sleep Inn & Suites. Tom is fast asleep and I think I will join him soon.

We are about two hrs from our finally destination - Austin!

By the way I have always been the navigator on road trips. The job description of the navigator is to tell the driver what exits to take, open drinks, stick chewing gum into the drivers mouth and yell at him when he takes a right after you told him left 3 x and or yell at him because when he is lost; he won't pull over to ask for directions.

Well I have been replace by this thing called the GPS...........and let me tell you she isn't always accurate, and that is when the driver yells "What do I do, Where do I go??? "

Tell me do you think he; I mean the driver; has the right to ask the navigate for help when his new toy the GPS lady screws up?????

Lets hear your opinions..........leave them in the comment box girls..I mean navigators.

Day 4

Hi Friends Tom and I spent a good part of the day in Nashville. We had reservation to board the General Jackson Showboat at Noon!

General Jackson

Tom , Tim Watson (Fiddle Man) Me!

Check out these videos of the live entertainment. Tom and I really enjoyed the cruise on the General Jackson. Tim Watson was not only a fantastic fiddle player but could sing, did a great impression of Willie Nelson and had you in stitches with his jokes and facial expressions.
